Richard:

One rosey hypothesis for what Datek is doing is that they are serving their customers very well, towit:

They were forced to return borrowed shares to the lender broker, they gave 48 hour notice to holders of sufficient number of shares, then they worked hard to find replacement shares so that the forced buy-in would not be necessary, and they found them.

I'm pretty sure Schwab would not do this unless bugged to death by customers.

This is only a hypothesis.

<< After all the discussion and Datek trashing, it looks like NO ONE was bought-in for any stock.

What is Datek doing?!? >>

Datek canceled my buy in on ALTIF and executed a trade commission free. Bought 100 shares for actually 25 cents less my limit.
100 shares of Costco(COST)

sure is a nice day
