I agree with that completely. That's why I said "long-term impact" and why I depend on TA to trade the inet stocks and AMZN in particular. All you can say about the stock price over the short term is that it is a supply and demand situation. The demand is driven more by the "media is the message", or rather that it's not so much important what is said about Amazon as what level of visibility the group and stock achieves.

I've been thinking a bit about the planned BOOK (Barnes & Nobel) IPO. Although the analysis should be that this signifies a heightened level of competition (or shows the willingness of others to match Amazon's growing losses in pursuit of market share), the mere fact that this will draw increased attention to the internet sector and particularly to Amazongonenutty.com will more likely cause the price to go up more than the threat of increased competition will cause it to go down! That rise may be temporary, but it's the kind of thing traders need to be aware of.
