Elroy, re:Margin Requirements

The margin requirement in the 1920s was 50% just like today. New issues had a 10% margin requirement.

Of course, the boys in Chicago get their stock (via futures) at a 10% margin today. The '87 ride shed light on the problem, but nobody wanted to kill the goose...
