The insider sales by Costco officials are not as ominous as it might seem. Most appear to be exercise and sale of options on a regular basis. Paulsell, the most consistent seller, actually peaked his sales in Sept. - Dec., 1997, when COST had excellent momentum on an uptrend. As COST peaked, Paulsell's insider sales have actually diminished. Here's another situation where first impressions can lead to a faulty interpretation.
