megs, let's think through this. korea is holding back inventory to boost prices. so are japanese companies. higher dram prices are not good for intel. as mike dell said, they'll pass the costs on to the customer. like it or not, that will negatively impact intel's processor sales.

why are the major players holding back inventory? b/c they can w/o too much pain. give mu lots of money and make them produce all out and bam, they have to go full bore, too.

full bore = higher supply equals lower prices and more profit for intel.

otherwise, i don't see it. does intel need to brow beat the dram guys to sell rdram? seems they'll go where the demand is anyway. is intel trying to create artificial demand?

maybe rambus is the better play here.

Micron also recently bought Rendition. So I assume Intel gets access
to Renditions 2D/3D technology and any other PC technology Micron
has been working on.

>>> Intel would get guaranteed memory source plus as an "added"
bonus a lap dog computer maker to test it's Rambus designs.
If MUEI can prove the Rambus system then that gives Intel
more power to pressure the other computer manufacturers.<<<
