The Hyseq Gene Discovery Module presently can analyze large batches of samples for gene discovery, gene function analyses and genomic experimentation. This high throughput allows for new target identification without previous sequence knowledge and enables 3-4 times more sequences to be screened per month than our competitors' current production scale (emphasis added--sorta has the feel of the cpu companies or the video chip companies doesn't it?). The volume of information obtained from screening a large number of cDNAs provides the ability to identify rarely expressed genes to the resolution of one copy of mRNA per cell in a tissue sample.
