Its too bad that Glen Henry wasn't able to use his ties with IBM to cement a better deal for IDTI. IDTI probably does not find it cost effective at this point to manufacture near obsolete parts at IBM. If they ever get up to speed with current X86 designs, maybe the IBM relationship will flourish. For a while still it will be wait and see - can IDTI execute?

austin360.com:80/biz/09sept/24/24intel.htm
Intel is opening a cpu design center in Austin Tx.
...well
this is where centaur is and it also looks like
intel is grabbing some highly specialized cpu desgi
brains and taking them off the market. These guys
worked for MOto and Ibm on the PowerPc and it was
a pretty BIG Success design wise this is the cpu
used in MACs and IBM Unix workstations.

interesting article
ibm has always maintained an active 2nd computer line in
out-of-u.s. markets, until now using cyrix chips-their ability
to do this in house ends at year end.

this out of u.s. line has been a big seller to date,
to continue this they will need to ramp internal production of another line, or go to more expensive outsized intel chips

lets spread more rumors

ps-their investor relations guy last week said that idti hasn't yet
received from ibm ANY chips good enuf to ship for sampling
