Speaking as a broker outside the US, CNBC is a complete waste of time. I see many of my colleagues glued to it during business hours wasting their time and the firm's. It is a culvert for information which is pumped out by the barrel by talking heads who could just as easily be doing CNN sports or your local news. BUT it is the nineties and the media is the message. CNBC moves markets. If we get a full blown bear market these guys may have to start talking about sports after all. CNBC has never seen a bear market.
