Dell Excellence:

Hello all, this is my first post to the DELL thread after lurking since April. Thanks to all who have provided such expert insight and occasional comic relief. Here's some good qualitative info (unabashedly lop-sided) on our favorite company, taken from this month's Windows Magazine Tech Support Survey:

Overall Rankings:
Dell- Excellent
CPQ- Good

Excellent System Reliability (% of respondents):
Dell- 80% (ichiban)
CPQ- 52%

Successful first-time system startup:
Dell- 91%
CPQ- 89%

Average Cost of Repairs:
Dell- $17.60 (ichiban)
CPQ- $33.50

Problem Resolution:
Dell- 3.1-4.4 Days
CPQ- 3.2-6.0 Days

Overall Excellent Rating: (% of respondents)
Dell- 62% (ichiban)
CPQ- 32%

Brand Loyalty:
Dell- 95% (ichiban)
CPQ- 83%

Dell also took top honors in telephone call resolutions, hold times, tech-support personnel ratings, and overall effectiveness. It was also interesting to note that 27% of the respondents bought their system Direct.
