RF - in Toronto Scotia Bank has had a gold department for many years. I think the same is probably true in Winnipeg - don't think proximity to mint makes any difference though. I bought Krugerrands in the 70s - would have thought the Maple Leaf is a good a bet as any - but I'm no expert. There are sites on the net where prices are quoted - but I'm not sure you'd do any better than with the bank. My son says he may pick up a few. Interesting that sales of Eagles are soaring! E

Around this part of the Wet Coast the most convenient place to buy physical is BNS - Scotiabank. I just went looking for a reference to physical trading on their website and found this, which kind of shatters my 'dignified banker' image of them -g-

I hear they will only buy back what you bought from them, and you have to keep the receipt ... and give them your SIN number, which imho is a bad move .... Did you yanquis know that we have sin numbers up here - we like to be organised about that sort of thing -g-
