Kachina-

Thanks for the response. I agree about Russia already being on its back. But places like Asia and South America aren't.... yet.

You are correct about everybody being on high alert on D Day... count on it. But debugging a whole system falling apart around you can take some time. Have you ever seen some of the code in production in South America? Ugly stuff... seems like its held together with rubber bands and bubble gum. When those systems melt down... you ain't putting it back on line over night...

As for official reports, I also agree mostly... how did our friends in the CIA miss the calling the fall of the USSR? But they seem to have a pretty good grasp of the global Y2K impact. I read the report... at least the public version of it... and it was sobering. So maybe the CIA is half right <ggg>.

Do I think we will see a global recession that lasts for years? Nope. Do I think we will see a global recession that lasts for a couple of quarters? Yes. Maybe we differ in degrees of opinion.

I whole heartily agree that the bottom line is fundamentals... either you have them or you don't. I am a fundamental investor... what do you do, how well do you do it... who do you compete with.... how much money will you make..... and how long can we expect you to make it....

It ain't rocket science <ggg>

Happy investing,

Tech Master

P.S. Although there is something to be said for going for a ride on the internet craze, Y2K mania, the EntreMeds of the world, or whatever momentum play du jour happens to come our way <ggg>
