<<Billy "Kid" Parret? Emile Griffen? I don't remember them. But I do know the Howdy Doody Song.>>

Buffalo Bob died a couple of months back so no more Howdy Doody.

The Gillette Friday night fights. Emile Griffen stunned Kid Parret but when Parret fell his arms tangled in the ropes and kept him half up. The camera was in that corner and was right there for the 26 unblocked, no dodge, wind up tosses from a professional fighter to the head of a stunned target. Time magazine reported that they drilled 8 holes in Parrets head to ease the swelling but his brains kept oozing out. Griffen went into morning and took a year off. That was the end of the Friday night fights although there were some for a couple of years. This was back when TV was black and white.
