And we think the Romans were barbaric for staging gladiator games.
I read somewhere that these "games" began as public execution of criminals, then devolved into savage entertainment. Just like what we watch right now in our favorite movies.

Gotta remember this was before TKOs. And the ref was behind Griffen and couldn't see what was happening. Lots of new rules after most of America watched Kid's head bounce like a punching bag. In those days a fighter punched until the count started. Late fifties.
