One could for example read a thread from the beginning and flag all posts that relate to a concept. The concept could then be given a title and made available to others. The simplest form would be a "Best of the Thread by Frank". There may also be a "Best of the Thread by Allen". Newcomers to a thread could go to the thread index and select and read one of the lists. The creativity of the original poster is not compromised and we add a new level of creativity. Whoo, this is enough for one night. But what would you file this message under? Dumbo, probably. <G> Not all posts would be incorporated in a list. Some posts would be in more than one list. Your post could appear in "Electronic Communication", It could also appear in "All of Spots' Posts" and someone else may place it in a "Best of Spots" list. If I want to gripe about NT, am I talking about operating systems or am I talking about Microsoft or am I talking about error recovery? Probably I'm talking about all three and several other categories. I agree 100%. In my attempts to index the thread It was difficult deciding what category a post belonged in. I never considered (well maybe I thought about it) asking the thread to restrict their posts to one idea with one subject header. I opted instead to place a post in each of several categories.
