I think it was the NYPost not that long ago which noted some thoughts of CBS' VP of Research that if somehow those guys who used to view AFL on NBC continued liking AFL on CBS that that could yield a dramatic improvement of say 68% in that attractive male-demo 18-49 group for CBS. I guess that's the demo group that could be described as channel switchers and thus not an easy target for ad $$ So, does anyone have any idea what the early indications are regarding the male-demo 18-49 group ? Read in the NYTimes today that AMFM sold bonds at 9% par. Now of course Jacor has been noted in various financial sources as a takeover possibility and I have read in the financial press too that CBS and AMFM are supposed to be interested. So I looked at Jacor and AMFM in todays Barrons and both have negative net profit estimates. I compared them to CBS and they have a net profit estimate. What am I missing here ? Both AMFM and Jacor last week ending up big last week and CBS tanked, why the difference ? As an example, AMFM last week hit $29 1/4 and yet closed the week at $38 1/8th ! And Jacor last week hit $45 5/16th and yet closed the week at $52 ! Contrastingly, CBS drifted lower by a bunch.
