Larry,

The fact the Fed had to orchestrate the bailout of LTCM is the strongest signal to date that all is not well with the world financial markets.

Japan has at least $ 1 trillion in bad loans (4x's GDP in derrivatives), Brazil owes $ 70B in the next 2 months, China will devalue sooner rather than later, the US banks have $ 30 trillion in derrivatives, Y2K, Impeachment proceeedings, Kosovo, Russian unrest, Iran/Afghanastan, EURO competition.. I don't see much out there which would encourage me to be long.
