This would be a great win for SS/L if it is announced:

STILL NO FINAL WORD ON AUSTRALIA CONTRACT
A Mitsubishi-Space Systems/Loral joint venture is still believed to be
ahead in the bid to win the contract for Australia's Optus C1 satellite.
But a formal announcement has still to be made, although the board of
Australian telecom company Optus Communications gave the green light to
move ahead with the contract earlier this month. The anchor tenant on Optus
C1 will be the Australian Department of Defence whose approval of the
contract award will also be required. Other bidders were Matra Marconi
Space and Alcatel Espace/Aerospatiale of Europe and Hughes Space and
Communications of the US.
