Hi Zeev,

I actually disagree with that. VECO is not appropriately grouped with other semi equip companies IMO. To me, they appear the main beneficiary of an enormous HDD upgrade cycle that is just ramping up - VECO = the (admittedly smaller but just as dominant) "AMAT" of the HDD cap equip industry, at a sweeter spot in the cap equipment upgrade cycle c/w the semi industry. That's why their b/b has held better than virtually any semi cap equip co. I think any more VECO visits to the 20s will be fleeting - just like the last one was.

Zeev, I am hoping too for an Oct minimelt, or else I have really misplanned for this quarter. With VECO it will all come down to whether or not they make their earnings numbers this quarter. According to yhoo it is 27c. I noticed that they always seem to beat the earnings numbers by at least a couple of cents so I guess the shareholders are feeling pretty confident about that. Of course, that also means that if they for any reason miss the 27c by more than say 3c the stock could collapse immediately IMO. I agree with your market scenario, which is also similar to what Jerry Favors has been calling for for a while. Once we bottom below 7400, if it really does happen, then I think we will make an amazing rise from there, though perhaps not the stocks which fail to show earnings growth and visibility. If we do correct thru 7400 I will get in bigtime and hope to double my money within a few days or possibly a few weeks. If we don't correct well then I'm stuck with my cash position and have to come up with a new plan. I guess we'll know either way by the end of October...

Zeev,

<<Jay, if we get the October minimelt, I think that VECO could actually go under 22, possibly even under 20. >>

At the risk of sounding flip: "comin right up!"

Veco will be one of my first buys when it is time to come back out from under the rocks.

best,
Stitch
