C.L., as soon as Edison tried vacuum, it worked. As a matter of fact, for a long time, the filament was carbon, not the current tungsten (VBG). The point is, changing the filament was not the solution but changing the environment was. May be GPGI should consider that it is time to try and understand what their problem is before they attempt to solve the wrong problem.
