Sam;
<<But it is just as remarkable, I think, that we have kept a lot of the same names, despite the slide.

Yes and when I think about it we have not lost a lot of the quality IMHO. One exception is Gus whom I miss muchly. He is a remarkably insightful guy with an incredible ability to ferret out news. In hindsight I assume he is off conquering other sectors. Bully for him. Bet he is back one day though. <G>

This damn sector bewitches and beguiles.

Best,
Stitch

<<undoubtedly foolishly mildly optimistic about QNTM over the next 6
months. I am assuming that they can still make money on the BigFoot, despite their
aggressive pricing, and that DLT/ATLPA will allow them to have enough growth to
make this price (i.e., 16-17) look like a bargain down the road. We'll see. But in the
end, Z was right back in January to sell at 26 (if he/we couldn't have managed to have
been even more prescient and have sold in the high 30s, low 40s last autumn).>>
Unfortunately we got hit with the double whammy of two basically unrelated businesses going sour at the same time. Being an optimist that they'll finally get the high end right over the next three quarters, Quantum will be an interesting company again when management stops throwing so much of their extraordinary DLT profits down the heads business rathole.
