I was browsing through some articles today and happened on Carl Johnson's latest. In the article, Clark Fuhs of Dataquest had predictions on the semi-fab situation. From January, his prediction of 2 percent growth for this area has dropped to -17 percent. The complete article is at: techweb.com Sort of a gloomy assessment of the state of the semiconductor business.

Since this weekend marked the end of the calendar year third quarter, I thought I would compare the group to the end of the second quarter, 13 weeks ago. Out of the 41 stocks, only one, VECO, has shown a gain. All of the other 40 stocks are down, with 4 of the stocks being down over 50 percent. The group average is down 28 percent.
