No. You misunderstood what I was worried about.

I am worried that some big MM player (not a director or employee of costco) has got wind of some inside scoop about earnings or forward looking conditions. The insiders always tend to be selling the stock as it has done very little but go up over the last 2 years. If the stock plunges into the 30's (God forbid!), then I would hope to see some insider buying.

With regard to the latest downdraft, if I look at the chart I see that the stock tends to trend down before earnings and also before announcement of sales. Without any evidence to the contrary, I think Cost will do well this quarter and in the future, but I think that Wexler guy is overly optimistic. A P/E of 25 is pretty decent for a company with a lot of competition, growing at a sub 20% clip albeit with a solid, even excellent way of doing business.

I still think that a recession hurts COST a lot.
