M: The wording in that article reminded me of the Red Herring
issue that I read awhile back. There is also information at these
2 links:

AS to what it means - LSI is doing really well in a hot sector (duh!)... Diana had mentioned that networking grew in excess of 100% last year for LSI... BTW did you notice the wording in the CS
release - the tone was a "after that last vendor screwed up - we hate our other vendor and we are big pals with LSI " - a good sign for us. It is unusual to see effusive praise in a press release with staid ol' CS so they must be quite happy with Mr. LSI on the SmartSwitch Routers .

My only dumb question is: If there a difference between a router and
a switch why are they calling this a "SmartSwitch Router" yet on
Cabletron's page: cabletron.com I don't see the word "router" anywhere (and this is also the way LSI reported it - saying something like "SmartSwitch 6000 product families" - no "router" word!)

Shane.
