(Nasdaq: TSSW - news) Thursday announced the appointment of James C. Schulte, as the company's new director of engineering effective immediately. As director of engineering, Schulte will oversee research and development of new products. Schulte comes to TouchStone from NetManage where he served as director of engineering. In this role, Schulte was responsible for development of Microsoft Windows-to-IBM mainframe and AS/400 connectivity products. In Schulte's seven years at NetManage, he also served as a technical scout for new and emerging technologies and was responsible for product planning for the evolution of existing products and identification of new product opportunities.
