IPEX NEWS.....Karat 74....

"Fighting for seats at the 74 Karat presentation."

Half an hour prior to the presentation of the 74 Karat digital offset press, the amphitheatre is filled to the brim with spectators. Early arrivers grab their seats and wait in anticipation for the show to begin. Although seating capacity is for 110 people, over 180 people squeeze into the aisles at each session. Word of mouth is the predominant factor in bringing spectators to the stand.

Reactions have been overwhelming. For those already familiar with the 74 Karat, response to the progress has been amazing. The digitally integrated offset press, is now not just an idea but a machine that is up and running with an impressive, automated 20-minute makeready.

Spectators seeing the Karat perform for their first time can hardly believe their eyes as they rise from their seats to get a closer look. Printers with 'ink on their hands' are astounded to see how this press, run by a single operator, can provide such a high level of productivity yet unheard of in the industry. A skeptical spectator actually licked his finger and rubbed the freshly printed poster to check its quality.

A mere twenty minutes separate the last salable sheet printed for one job from the next, and that's the time it takes the presenter to cover the salient features such as automatic makeready, waterless technology and the Gravuflowâ„¢ inking system inherent in the 74 Karat. Within six sheets of the run, the presenter lays perfectly registered and full proof-matching prints on the floor for the audience to see.

It is hardly surprising therefore, that just five days into the show, beta contracts are being concluded as well as several letters of intent. And this is just the beginning.
