Gil,

I believe Bezos was questioned about that in some publication. I believe he stated the bonds (he did not use the word junk) would not dilute the stock. The bonds were initially an over seas offfering so information need not be filed with the SEC. I would go with the disclosure issue as the reason.

There is a lot of information AMZN does not disclose and their excuse is that it would tip off the competition. Think about that?????
