Hi freeus, Was that the scanner that you felt was the best buy for the money? Actually, I just walked into BrandSmart and asked the salesperson what a decent scanner is. Technology is becoming enough of a commodity that I don't really need to research it. I can save money mail-ordering it, but it's convenient to have it the same day -- and big ticket items I'll order from Dell. ;-) This one only does 600 dpi, I believe. You can see some graininess in the picture, but it's good enough for its purpose. If I was in publishing I'd spend a lot more money. As far as Windows 98, W95 kept crashing so I decided to upgrade and see if it helped. It didn't, really, which is why I bought that $1000 iDot to act as a firewall. But I'm giving it to a friend, so I have to buy another Dell. ;-) I figure this machine can be the firewall, I want the biggest and best. Cheers, KenB
