Thanks for the spell check. I admit my spelling is deplorable.

In high school I had a crush on Norton. But that didn't have anything to do with boxing. haha

I would have loved to have seen a Holmes/Ali fight if they were of the same era. Holmes could do the Ali style.

I always liked Tex Cobb even though he wasn't a professional boxer. That man could take punishment. Never did see him go down.

Ken Norton was from Alton, Illinois and was a super star in high school football. I bet $20 on Norton when he was fighting a nobody named Larry Holmes. Alcohol was involved.

I like George Foreman. He was surly as a youth but he has turned into a really nice guy.

You get rid of your mole yet or have you named him and made him a pet?

DScottD,

I'm a no good, dirty liar. Ken Norton was from Jacksonville, Illinois and not from that den of thieves in Alton. He was a good athlete but it seemed he tended to block punches with his face instead of his hands.

I worked in a pizza joint in the '70s, and Jerry Quarry come into the store once. He was not nearly as big as I would have expected him to be.
