Of course society has to have laws to protect it, dd. I was only defending the virtue of tolerance against the charge that its only supporters are those who believe in nothing.

As a civic virtue, "tolerance" is not about putting up with anti-social behavior, but about respecting the values, nature, and beliefs of other people even when they differ from one's own. As a Christian virtue, "tolerance" is about leaving the judging of other people's sins up to God.
