Snoore. Tedious. I'm a political independent, who has voted for Reagan and Bush (once each), as well as Clinton twice. Giuliani instead of Dinkins. I'm a bit right of center on economic issues, and quite liberal on cultural issues and civil liberties issues. I believe in a balanced budget and civil rights for homosexuals -- though I'm a raging heterosexual.<g> I'm a Christian by birth, christening and confirmation, but have a strong tendency to distrust, and in fact to dislike, fundamentalists of any religion, whether it be Christian, Jewish or Moslem. Similar characteristics of intolerance and predilection for jihad among them all (though Moslem fundamentalists may take the cake for jihad both currently, and in its rootedness in their religion.) I tend to believe that the rise of rational thought, on the shoulders of Greek philosophy, and the development of science, both as a philosophy of life as well as an aide to technical progress, has been at least as important (no, I will say more important) to the astounding rise and liberality of Western European and then American culture as Christianity has been. And yes, I am a secular humanist at least as much as I am a Christian.

I could boast about my education and career but choose not to.
