Hi Silver!

I guess the answer is going to have to be "or what?" <g>

I'm back, but not in the same way I was before.

About those tides you spoke of....perhaps we are talking about two different things. Did you by chance mean pressures? You know, like peer pressure...or fads...or even like here on SI getting caught up in the furor on things? Those aren't tides...those are external things.

Now back in the early 70's, I could not go to a party without marijuana being present. The trend was to "get high." I tried it a couple of times, but of course I never inhaled. <smile>

Anyway, I didn't see what the big deal was, and so after a couple of times, I just didn't do it anymore. I told my friends I'd rather have a cigarette and a drink. Of course what made me mad was that I would have gotten arrested along with everyone else had those parties been raided, even though what I was doing was legal. But oh well, I went to the parties anyway.

So I went against the tide, only it wasn't really a tide...it was a pressure...a trend. So that's not what I am talking about. I'm talking about the tides of Nature, and therefore our lives, that are every bit as real as the tides of the ocean. Try and fight the tides of the ocean, and you end up in trouble....but go with them, and learn to harness their power....and you end up stronger than ever.
