Michael, How far out do you write you CCs on CPQ? I've been writing some longer term CCs but think I should do this month-to-month as I am expecting a breakout before the end of the fourth quarter.

As we approach 35 I may pick up some 30puts expecting one more down cycle. What are your thoughts?

Good trading on CPQ. I believe this is a long term winner.

Dan

This breaking news "German Chancellor Kohl Defeated" might cause some
wave for tomorrow's market.
CPQ might test its new high 39 3/4 on its Oct earnings.
The chart shows it is possible. As a matter of fact, it just broke 50 MA last Friday.
Those Republicans and Democrats'd better stop attacking each other. I
don't care who is leading the country as long as what they are doing is not hurting the market.
Go market!

michael,
Tou are 100% correct if the call buyer is selling the stock rather then accumulating it.. In August it appears they did not sell the stock. At least not right away. That is the month I figured about 7.5 million shares traded hands on call options. That or demand for the stock was greater then supply furnished by normal market and stares sold by option callers. Incidentally, I do the same thing. Only I sell puts rather then calls right now.
