Who's quiet? I made my comments on the last news. It is good that they cut advertising and general sales expenses. They are still the only software shop doing their own in-house advertising (it really does show). They should contract it out. It is a positive sign, but I would wait for the next two quarters before 'REAL' profit is made.

I would advise Corel of the following, to succeed:

1) Consolidate the WordPerfect Suite products as a low cost MS friendly product (don't compete against them, take the low road).
You can't compete against MS in the business community. With the Internet taking off, I would align the product to take advantage of this market (it would appeal to many home users of the internet).

2) Give Corel Computer 6 months to make REAL sales. If no inroads, look for a buyer, if none, scrap the project.

3) Consolidate the Draw product, maybe even release a free upgrade product that addresses all the major bugs. This would go a long way to nail the coffin in any competitors (look at MS 'take no prisoners' policy). Find what you need to make it the premier product to destroy your competitors and DO IT! (with apologies to Nike for trademark infingements).

4) Get jBridge and its Suite of products out (as stable as possible). If the technology is as good as people say it 'could be', then it should open a new market for the company.

Ciao!
