The big variable in this off year election will be Demo turnout. I think we can take if for granted that substantial parts of the Repub. base are, and will remain until Nov., energized. The Repubs. will get a greater than normal off year turn out, and nothing is going to change that. The big variable between now and Nov. is how energized Demos and independents who think the Repubs are vastly overplaying this, become. Phase one was to try to hide from it all, and dive under some rock. I think we are entering phase two where the righteous indication of the Repubs., and their transparent efforts to make hay of this overwrought atmosphere for suspect cultural agenda purposes, starts outweighing the public's need to express disgust at what the don't want THEIR spouse doing, or thinking they might be contemplating doing.
