Two interesting articles appearing in the Korean Herald (Sept 28)
issue. The first article discusses LG Semicon announcing that its 64 Megabit Direct Rambus DRAM passed Intel's test earlier this month.
DELL has placed an order with LG. LG Semicon official said that with INTC'S backing LG will be able to spearhead standarization of the new high speed chips. The second article notes that Hyundai has developed a new 64 Megabit Synchronous DRAM offering 4x higher data rates that ordinary synchronous devices. Hyundai said they can produce chips w/o retooling existing lines for ordinary products. Computer manufactures can also put them in systems w/o any modification of their assembly lines. Mass production is slated for early next year. IS this info
