Apparently some Lithium explosions at Ultralife plant.

According to several posts on the Yahoo Ultralife thread, several drums of Lithium blew up at the Ultralife plant, and nearby residents were warned to stay indoors. One poster called the company, and IR is claiming no damage to the plant from the explosions. ULBI is trading off to about 5 on the "news".

This is one of the big problems with Ultralife. Their safety record seems pretty poor. They have had a number of plant fires over the last four years, and the recent one last year in Great Britain, shut their plant down for quite a while. These fires were in their facilities to produce primary liquid Li-ion batteries, but unfortunately Li-polymer reputation may get tarred a bit as a result. Or perhaps these kinds of news events will eventually push OEMs away from Li-ion to Li-poly batteries.
