As I remember it Karin, the market didn't do too much of anything.. The inflation was bad in the 80s. I remember you could get a CD paying 15 and 16%. The Dow really never got above 1000 until the early 80s. I didn't have a clue but an old friend of mine kept telling me to put 100% of my pension plan monies into the market. I did that from '67 until just about a few years ago. Of course, I kept buying my shares at very low prices for at least twenty years and then the market took off. Hope that memory helps.
