Well dd, I certainly respect your position on the issue. And it would be nice to get everyone to a shelter. My libertarian side tells me it's still wrong to force a pregnant woman to stay pregnant at say 1 month. However, at the point that the baby can be removed and survive on it's own they have forfeited any right to an abortion.

What's really strange and interesting is that many of the same people who say abortion, abortion, abortion are the same ones who wouldn't hesitate to have you arrested if they witness you having a drink at a local bar while 9 months pregnant.

Never quite figured out how some people can be for late term abortion and be against pregnant woman drinking?

Just so we don't get to off subject here, Clinton did recently veto the partial birth abortion bill. That must be why he is still a hero to the NOW organization. :-)

Michael

dd, you wouldn't believe the support groups at Pregnancy Support Service Centers for women that have had abortions. One woman there had an abortion 20 years ago and she still has nightmares on the anniversary. Most of the women say that if someone would have told them of the alternatives available, they would have chosen another route. Couples have been waiting for years to adopt and are willing to pay all the expenses for the mother through childbirth, but still they wait! The PSS Centers are seeing more and more women choose to give birth and give the child away. Of course, there's always those that we lose but we will not stop letting these young girls know we are there for them. Post traumatic stress from abortion is something the pro-abortion groups do not want discussed as though it doesn't exist! It does....and for many years after!!!

You have some weird ideas about life and it's start. A baby doesn't become a living soul until it takes the first breath. After that it is alive until the last breath is exhaled. The baby is a ling growing cell but hardly human till alive.

With your logic it is wrong and murder to spill sperm in a condom or elsewhere because it is the origin of a human. It is the womans decision.

Christianity has killed more people of all ages since its inception 2000 yrs ago than all the abortions from the beginning of time.

A consensual sexual act is hardly a crime. Most men would lie about it the same as Clinton did. I wouldn't be surprised if half the men complaining aren't just a bit envious. How many older men would turn down oral sex from a 21 year old? Bet the percentage is small if they thought they could get away with it.

<< In the event of the mother's life being endangered I can understand giving her a choice of saving her life or the unborn child's life. And I can understand giving a victim of rape or incest the choice of having an abortion or not. To me, other abortions are taking the life of an innocent child. >>

I actually tend toward the "choice" position, but I am mystified by the logical distinction between abortion being forbidden normally, but alright if the pregnancy is a result of rape or incest. Is the being in question any more or less innocent?
