My own preventive program for back problem is yoga - not the mantra-mumbling stuff, but the exercises, which are really excellent and heavily geared toward building up the muscles around the spine. People who work sitting down and who get little exercise, or unbalanced exercise, tend to get bad backs because the muscles that are supposed to support the spine and hold everything together just aren't up to it.

Us desk=workers gotta pay some attention to this stuff.

DScott, I feel your pain. My recommendation... Get an MRI as soon as you can. Doctors can't tell a thing about back pain without an MRI.

Since my Lombar laminectomy I've had zero pain in my back. Before the surgery, I lived with recurring back pains for 12 years. Until my leg went numb all they said was it's probably muscle spasms. My opinion is I had a blown disk for at least 10 years.

Now, I forgit of course, but I thot 60 Minutes or somebody did a story on a simple treatment for (even serious) back ailments that worked 8.9675 of 10 times yadda yadda, and was cheap, and so on. Even for people who had needed surgery, so of course a bunch of pissed-off doctors said "No!" [Not that they aren't often right.] ~ Sort of like the discovery of antibiotics curing eternalistic stomach ulcers, colonitis, etc.

Did I......uh oh, ~ dream this?
