Paul -
Dell is surely trading at a high multiple, but that is a reflection of it's proven ability to grow the business, and as long as Dell continues to execute, the multiple is justified. I have posted extensively on the factors Dell will need to consider to maintain that growth going forward, but there are a number of routes they could take (and probably a bunch more I have not thought of) which would allow them to continue their current success.

I see Dell heading into the 80's by year end, CPQ heading into the high 40's or 50's. I think CPQ will perform strongly in early '99, and I expect Dell to continue solid growth (but maybe not hypergrowth). By the end of this year it should be clear what the patterns for '99 will be. I am quite content to hold both of these stocks and I think the doomsayers are misguided. But as always I remind you that I am not anywhere near as savvy an investor as others on this thread.
