Re stolen cars:

A friend in Manila had a nice new SUV stolen a year or so back. Spotted the car a few months down the line, called in the cops on the mobile phone, watched the whole bust come down. Would have been great except that the guy using the car was a cop - they'd actually recovered the car less than a week after the theft, and decided it was too nice to give back. Happens all the time here.

If you think US cops are bad, spend a little time in SE Asia.

You found the car? Like a dummy I waited for the police to find my bike. Well, actually both of my bikes, the one I was talking about was the replacement for one stolen a month before.

How rude they didn't leave you with a full tank.
