Interesting article in this months SmartMoney magazine. A study conducted by researchers at Cornell University found that how often shares change hands can tell you a lot about a stock's future movement. The findings show that stocks with recent gains but low volume should soar. When performance improves at thinly traded companies, trading picks up making these low-volume winners become high-volume winners. This pattern certainly fits PM in that the recent low volume plus the fact on Friday it moved above the 50 day moving average.
