I was just wondering if it could have been possible for Lucent to announce a merger BEFORE October 1, but the deal being officially completed (using pooling-of-interest accounting) AFTER October 1?

lu just needs to get more backbone
to compete with csco
too much overlap with ericy
asnd would be sweet
coms makes sense but it is
an overweight, top heavy sloth
i hope for asnd....maybe coms (they could sell off modems)
minimal overlap
pushes lu into the networking game
big time
