forgive me, I hope, for being simplistic (or if I am being an idiot, just let me know how) but if the market crashes (possible) or a major recession starts (likely in my superstitious way of thinking) then the demand for steel will fall dramatically.

Then the price for steel will fall, exactly at the same time as overseas producers (who unquestionably are in countries in deep recessions and depressions) have excess capacity.

None of this bodes well for a company that sells recycled steel.
