Reynolds,

I know that you are no fan of the Austrian school, but their writings on these international finance and credit cycle issues are better than anything else I have come across. They have a book ordering section at the web page. The masterpiece book is "Human Action". It's a heavy read, but it's worth it. The only problem is that it probably will take away many pre-conceived notions you may have about economics. Mises was a true super genius and he does a great job of refuting and shooting down a lot of the conventional wisdom and stuff that is taught in school. It could turn you into a less optimistic person than you are. I think you will appreciate his love for free markets though.
