This is a post from the Silicon Investor thread regarding Cendant, a stock which I bought at 10 3/4 in part on Dessauer's recommendation. The person who posted, incidentally, owns a large position in CD and has gone from being a champion of the stock to a disgruntled and skeptical owner based, in part, on the stock options plan announced by Cendant that Dessauer is so enthusiastic about.

If, indeed, there does turn out to be more bad news in the 10K, that will strongly suggest to me that Dessauer is not doing his homework, given his strong buy recommmendation reiterated on Friday's Hot Line for this stock. On the other hand, let's wait and see what happens with this stock. Dessauer may be correct and the skeptics wrong. Given Cendant's tract record of recent, who wouldn't be wary of their strategies and motives? Besides, even paranoids have enemies.

IMHO, Cendant is a clear test of JD's value investing instinct, ability to communicate with and evaluate a company's management, and give sound advice to the non-pros like me and most other subscribers.

I just called investor relations. I was told that the 10K will not be out today. Of course,
I've been given bad info before by other companies, so maybe she will end up being
wrong; However, that is what I was just told.

This concerns me. This should have been out sooner, not later, IMO.

If there are more surprises to be had, I'm going to be rather upset with Mr. Silverman,
as if I'm not already. Maybe he thinks that if he has bad news and then his options are
re-priced . . .

I should also mention that I have not been able to speak to an actual IR person. I was
only able to speak to a secretary. Usually, when I can't reach an IR person, bad news
follows. I called on Fri and today.

I don't know if I'll sell any stock, but the risk of owning CD has gone up some today,
IMO.
