With commissions I'm back in CS at $7.64! I think I learned a lot by this trade in CS/NETVA over the past 6 months and hope not to make some of the same mistakes in the future.

Value can be an awfully subjective thing in markets like these and one needs to go beyond the financials, management, and industry to assign what you believe to be the floor to a stock. CS at $12.5 looked so good a few months ago I bought too much...if I had held that position I would have seen a 50% loss on the books when it went to $6 which would have been devastating considering the initial size of the investment! Thankfully, I closed out that position with a loss of 16% and used the discount spread between NETVA and CS to average in to a new CS position. However, I made another mistake by buying NETVA too early and too aggressively which limited my ability to buy as much as I wanted when it went below $4!

The bottom line is that I'm currently up over 30% on my CS/NETVA position, but I've only made back 25% of my total losses realized on CS and NETVA previously. I also wasn't able to establish the same size position that I initially had in CS earlier in the year, mainly because of margin market forces in other hard hit holdings. As a result, my break even price is higher, but I'm much more comfortable with this smaller position long term since I've been freed to use those excess funds in other areas!

We live and learn!:-)
