Thanks for posting that. Gosh, it seems that the pc games are running away from hardware that's only two years old. Well, the Redjack demo looked fine on my computer so I probably won't have any complaints.

Of course an adventure game like Redjack has limited replay value. The first 25-40 hours are what counts.

Another way that hybrid cd-rom sales are tracked is by where it is sold. Ie, every copy of Redjack that goes to my local Mac-only shops is likely put down as a Mac-version sale. I'm not sure if CompUSA is able to track whether the game is sold from the game section or the Apple software section, however.

Anyway, it looks like Cyberflix will continue to produce Mac versions of its games. Whether THQ will publish the next one, is up in the air. I don't expect THQ to publish any non-hybrid Mac games unless it is a port of a successful pc game. Ie, if BASS is a big hit then we will see a Mac version in 1999. THQ could farm it out to MacSoft for a royalty, for instance.
