Paul -
Dell is taking a number of plays from CPQ's 1995 gamebook (i.e. the plays that worked!). CPQ is taking some plays from Dell's 1997 gamebook (especially the targeted corporate configurations) and adapting them to CPQ's distribution methods - a harder thing to do. But CPQ is playing other cards as well. There is a lot of cross-fertilization going on between these two companies.

<<< I took a tiny position on AMZN, just for fun, if you can believe that.>>>>
One big advantage I see in small side ventures is that it prevents me from messing with Dell holdings which continue ever upwards. Guess I don't "see" amzn so am missing it, but I love yhoo.
To each his own, whatever works
Regards
Sig
