Unfortunately for Bill, his company WAS in a monopoly position on the technology in question. But even there, MSFT would have been free to charge exorbitant royalties for any unique components, etc. without any anti-trust consideration.

Even combined, IBM, HP and CPQ do not have 70% of the markets the PCI-X technology would play in. But even if they did, the only issue would be demonstrating some predatory activity leveraging that position. Using technology to beat your competitors does not fall into that category and is specifically protected activity.
